This is a one-of-a-kind hand carved fid made by Jay. It is carved from Red Oak. A fid is traditionally used by Sailors and Rope Makers to undo knots or splice new sections of rope. It has also been used by seamstresses to help turn corners on layered garments.
Care Instructions: This item should not be placed in a dishwasher but washed by hand with a mild soap if needed. Please dry completely before putting away. If needed, you can oil it with Food Grade Flax Oil, Coconut Oil, or Mineral Oil.
