In 2022 we reached out to supporters of Stone House History to help us offer classes. We asked for 5 sponsorships to help us purchase 5 kits (tools) to teach green wood working skills to youth ages 10 - 18. In just a few days, we were very humbled to not have 5 but to have 10 sponsorships for the tool kits needed! Without supporters like them, Stone House History would not be able to offer this class or others in the future.
A special thank you to the following sponsors, without which Stone House History would not be able to provide this class.
Fikar's Finest in memory of Chester Christie
Scott Theurer
Daniel Ratcliffe in memory of Tim McCown
Five Medals Living History, Inc.
Colonial Tinker in honor of Kyle Von Kamp
Robert and Sharon Newmyer
Chris Reardon on behalf of Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation
Elaine Stonebraker
Earl McKeever
Larry Riggleman Jr.
In 2023 we hosted our first classes "Intro to Green Woodworking" in this class, students learned what tools would be used, how to safely use them and even made a spurtle! Jay is very pleased with the first classes success and is looking forward to teaching more classes. Over the next few years, we plan to add more classes that will build on the foundations taught in this first class.
