As Jay and I are gearing up for our next 2 events, we thought we would take a moment to share with you why the event at AHEC is one of our favorites for the whole year! Besides seeing friends and smelling the great food vendors, of course!
The event is one of the closest to where we live and many reenactors will agree those are the best; as we are used to driving several hours to get to our destination. It is a timeline event so there is more to see than just military or just French and Indian War; so there is something for everyone. With over 400 years of American History you are bound to be enthralled. The best part is that it is FREE to the public - you just show up and BAM! There we are, all the living historians you could ask for.
The US Army Heritage and Education Center (US AHEC), is part of a functioning base in Carlisle, PA so you won't have to tread uneven ground to see the sites, they have a very nice walking path, complete with benches and way stations. There is even a trolley to get you to the farther locations so you don't have to walk if you do not want to.
The event is held May 20 and 21 this year, so please stop by and say hi! Jay and I will be attending on Saturday only as we have an event in Frederick on Sunday. We would love to see you out and about! For more information about the church event keep reading!
